Samichlaus Barrique is a doppelbock aged for 10 months in Austrian oak barrels (chardonnay or whiskey I’m told) giving a slight acidity, subtle wood notes and even more complex aromas.
Brewed only once per year, on Saint Nicholas Day (6th December). At 14% ABV, Samichlaus Barrique offers up aromas of roasted chestnuts, dark, dried fruits and smoked malt. The first sip reveals an intense, sweet and malty brew, with a dry finish.
