From the producer Albert Bichot, made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in the ‘red only’ appellation of Gevrey Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits of Burgundy.
The wine has spent 14 to 16 months ageing in oak barrels of which 20-30% were new oak.
The reuslting wine will not disappoint: the 2013 vintage gave the wine a lovely aromatic purity and a well-balanced structure. This Gevrey-Chambertin has really fresh but ripe red and black fruit notes as well as spice and a meatiness with age. Can be enjoyed now, but also cellared for a further 5-7 years to reach full development.
